Nothing special up close yet man, car has a minor accident history with a botchy repair job, meaning panel gaps on the front quarters are wider than a front door of a house, but thats next on the agenda. I suppose the lack of decent maintenance and the need for TLC of the body contributed to my purchase price of next to nothing. This 1J has 95,000kms on it and I just carried out the 100,000km service early, so with a fresh engine, interior and body, one day it might look as good as I wish it did. As you probably figured from MISTA2, I'm an anally-retentive perfectionist, but it will take some time. At present I only plan to mildly mod the 1JZ for 220rwkw (airbox chop, full exhaust, steelies for the twins, FCD, boost-up), and a manualised shift kit for the auto to allow for low 12-sec passes, but if i keep the car for a few years its big brother 2JZ is going to be transplanted, they bolt straight in as the Soarer shares the same floorpan as the Supra. Look forward to meeting you blokes / catching up with old mates at the next cruise

If you can look past the panel gaps and the cracks in the bumper around the high beams, and dodgy debadging by the past owner, it is mint The body is very very straight, just hasn't been pieced back together very well. The chassis isn't bent, but whoever bolted the front quarters back on must have been on something chronic, or was at the receiving end of yet another cheap insurance payout. I just keep buying cheap imports to resurrect - but I figure if I actually bought something perfect to start with, I'd get bored easily

| Haha, My excuse is im still at uni so I don't have any time, hence the fact the Soarer has been off the road for 6 months! Just got a new place today with the missus, and she's even set aside a room for all my parts, and a workshop downstairs, so for once there will be some progress after its all back and running. Going for a hybrid between JDM and VIP, thinking refurb the stock woodgrain, leather trim, send some of the interior plastics to chrometech in NSW, vertex ridge widebody kit, and deeeeeep dish work vs-xx. Time and money will tell Meanwhile, what I found left of my MR2... | |

| I imported the MR2 myself in '06, was a rough stocker covered in mould... And this is her before sale... If I pour as much time and money into the Soare as I did the MR2 then it will be a nice tidy cruiser, thats all I want this time round. MR2 was a real drivers car with the Mid mount rear drive layout and awesome grip (except snap oversteer). The Soarer will just be a neat pimping cruiser with some VIP flavour (hence the auto and luxury options). Not my cup of tea at first but im begining to like it. I still want another MR2 though | |

Haha, yeah it was a long time ago as rice was in, and they hadn't even released f&f tokyo drift yo! Haha. I was ahead of the game with colour changing LED tubes instead of neons Was about 4 years back, as that German bird we were talking about became my girlfriend for 6 months, hahaha. I only stopped cruising then cos she wasted all my time instead Good thing the mrs lets me spend time and $ on cars, I trust your missus does too yeah? Gotta have time for both bro

| Thats insane man, still looks from your other threads that you've got a lot of bang for your buck. I just got the bad news today that my radiator is full of rust (expected, it was sitting around for 6 months with a blown headgasket) so I have just bought a custom aluminium one. If the stock one holds pressure for another week until the replacement arrives I will be happy, otherwise I'm rooted haha. I hate cars To let people in on a secret I got the Soarer for $6.5K, well below what they sell for usually, but now I have learnt there is reason for that. Still, I basically have a fresh mill now, with less than 100,000kms on the clock, so still worked out cheaper. Just hope no more problems arise, but I think I've covered all bases. | |

| Still, might of been worth getting it cheap like that because now you got it cheaper and can spend that little extra money on better parts I reckon it's better in the long run | |
