| i figured out why the the car stopped working properly today... Basically what you are seeing there is the bell housing of the gearbox when the pin that runs through the clutch fork mounts, somehow that has managed to snap off, causing me to lose all clutch and push the clutch fork onto the pressure plate, where it as mangled all the fingers on there. Never seen it happen before! Luckly i have a spare box sitting around that i can swap my straight cuts into with new synchros! So ive got a new HD clutch on the way and 6 litres of Redline lightweight Shockproof oil for the Box & diff while im at it! And my new goodies: TD05 16g to a custom heat wrapped up pipe (which i also realised today that mine had cracken and was leaking) 3 inch dump pipe and exhaust with 2 resanators, magnaflow muffler & no cat (ill get flame throwing pics when the car is going) And braided fuel lines for parallel rails to match up to my 440cc injectors which are on their way. | |

| Decent gearbox damage there! Subie looks good though.
Also do you know of another volvo 2 series like that (preferably a sedan?) I want to do something unusual with a volvo - at least more unusual than my alfa lol.

| Try a M90 supercharged 1UZ running a soarer auto with shift kit.
I am just after one with rego so that its easy to drive it around while getting everything organised and sorted. The alfa won't see much in the way of street duties and I want a quick but unremarkable daily in the mean time. Injected, quad cam, supercharged, V8 volvo does the trick for me.
Theres a mint 240 up the road from my house - hasn't moved all year and a grandma owns it.

| I'm chasing as many volvo's that I can, they will be collector items one day!
But that idea would be fucking awesome! I haven't seen that done at all yet!

| I haven't found one either. It's not why I want to do it though, its a combination of not wanting cops on my arse, wanting a modern engine design with DOHC, with a heap of torque, and reliable.
I toyed with the idea of a stroker 350 chev but I think a step towards modernity is better for everyone involved.
Have come across a few 240's but they are a touch too pricey. This project requires a low initial purchase price so I can spend all my money on the engine/driveline.
So if you hear of a cheap sedan kicking around with rego even if its in the 90 day period let me know (auto diesel is my preference - heavy duty front suspension stock because of the heavy engine, so I won't have to change that when I swap to a (relatively) big V8).
Cheers. | |
